An excellent new instruction for a Development Chemist with a global manufacturing client in the area.

The role is being presented on a 12 month fixed term maternity contract basis with a good handover period facilitated with the current incumbent.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE WE ARE SEEKING IN AN INDIVIDUAL
University Degree in Sciences or related relevant professional qualifications to degree level.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Ability to lead cross functionally, forge strong working relationships and build effective project teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to plan ahead and use initiative.
Proven FMCG industry experience in personal care formulation and science, and formulation in baby care is a nice to have although not considered essential.
Excellent IT skills – particularly MS Word, Excel – with the ability to present. information in forms, tables and spread sheets.
Self-motivated, energetic & positive attitude.
Proactive solutions and problem-solving abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and formulating products based on consumer needs, insights and market trends
Initiating new product or claims ideas based on consumers research
Preparation of laboratory and stability samples.
Develop product demonstrations for new innovation.
Present new projects and research to a wide audience.
Sourcing of external assistance where required.
To be involved with laboratory and/or clinical in use tests to validate the safety of the products
Working closely with Marketing, Technical Manager Production and providing technical support.
Working with Quality Control and Packaging Departments to provide technical support.
Equipment - ensuring the proper use and maintenance of equipment and instruments used.
Reporting to the Senior chemist/R&D Manager any problems observed with products on test.
Literature searches and reviews of related topics when developing and formulating new products.
Processing - assistance, when required, for methods of manufacture.
Marketing - supply of samples and information for new or existing formulations.
Participating in daily running of Product Development laboratory and staff.
Ensuring the calibration of laboratory equipment is kept up to date.
Work with and create new SOP’s where appropriate.

You will be working 39 hour per week and our client is offering an attractive salary and benefits package including bonus.
