The Role:
ID&C requires an experienced finance professional to sit with the U.K. team. The role, reporting into the Finance Director, is a full accounts support role and you will need to be able to manage a full workload on your own initiative. You will primarily be responsible for day-to-day financial administration and compliance but you will also possess an ability to analyse and interrogate data.
As part of Avery and CCL, there will be excellent opportunities for future progression for the right candidate.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 5:30 (40 hrs per week)
Tasks:
Management Information – including but not limited to preparation and submission of monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT returns and data for completion of annual financial statements.
Supervision of Daily book-keeping processes, including Bank Reconciliations and Nominal Ledger Maintenance.
Review of credit applications, approval of Credit Notes and Refunds, management of supplier payments.
Maintaining Accrual, Prepayment and other schedules required to enable the preparation of reliable management accounts
Active involvement in the annual budget process, with the maintenance of reports to assist line managers understand performance against Plan and Prior Year.
Overhead cost control
Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register and monthly Depreciation calculations
Posting Inventory adjustments and reviewing inventory provisions (e.g. wastage, count discrepancies)
Requirements:
Experience of working in a busy finance function.
A professional, flexible, proactive and enthusiastic approach to work with excellent attention to detail
Have the ability to prioritise tasks and deal with them in a timely manner.
Have excellent organisational and communication skills, both in house and on a customer level.
Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Have an analytical and numeric mind-set.
A relevant accounting qualification or evidence that you are actively working towards gaining one is preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
