W.E Roberts is offering the exciting opportunity for a Storage & Distribution Manager to join our leading corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet.

The right candidate will have previous Managerial experience, preferably in a site/ Transport/ Logistics environment. We are looking for someone who is a proactive, hardworking, dedicated and reliable. Can you think on your feet and use your own initiative, whilst being flexible and willing to learn and take on new skills? Fork- lift truck licence a must have & shunters licence is desirable but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be running our Dispatch site day to day, including line management of the Forklift Truck drivers, who work 6 days per week, split over 3 shifts. You will need to be able to work effectively with the other shift leaders & key stakeholders from other departments within the business to ensure maximum productivity for the business.

You will need a flexible attitude towards weekend working/ overtime to meeting the changing needs of the business.
Duties for the role will include:

• Ensuring that you, your team and any other personnel who visit your site are proactive & fully compliant with all areas of H&S including regulations.
• Ensuring all vehicles to be loaded & offloaded are completed as efficiently as possible.
• Arranging staff cover for your direct reports.
• Line Management of the Dispatch Fork Truck team.
• Ensuring the yard and vehicle flow are organised to maximise productivity
• Responsible for quality control for products coming in and out of the site.
• Continual improvement off all processes and personnel which fall within your remit.
• Liaising with our Thames works production site to minimise delays and maximise productivity
• Work & communicate with key stakeholders within the business.
• Any other duties as authorised and necessitated by the needs of the business.
