Reed Facilities are urgently looking for an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Manager to join a well established company in Broadstairs.
Monday to Friday
8:30am – 5pm
£65,000 +
Company car allowance

Job Purpose
To lead and implement an engineering & maintenance strategy that will provide continual incentive to the sites growth and operational efficiency. With a focus on H&S, Compliance, Quality and efficiency this is a key role within the Operations
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the engineering & maintenance function to ensure legal compliance is appropriately interpreted, requirements set, with rigorous implementation and follow up to drive standards and ensure effectiveness.
Control, and develop a modern planned preventative maintenance system focused on delivering a high quality service provision targeting zero breakdowns.
Develop a detailed stratification of both plant and equipment to identify critical machines and components, ensuring high operational availability with strong levels of cost control that are logical and justifiable.
Diagnosis of running faults and breakdowns using ‘root cause’ analysis tools which are utilised to ensure effective repairs and continuous improvement learning opportunities are systematically captured.
To liaise with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance work in accordance with defined procedures
Lead CAPEX projects and major installation/improvement works.
Take on Duty holder responsibilities and act as the responsible engineer on site (RME/REE)
Control plant maintenance, spares and consumable costs in line with budget, ensuring critical stock levels are maintained.
Share Site Main Controller responsibilities and provide leadership and HSE expertise when responding to a site emergency event both during and outside normal office hours.
Person Specification
A degree qualified professional in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with a demonstrable record of developing and enabling an engineering strategy across the Operation. With experience of working within a COMAH manufacturing site and an in depth understanding of Health & Safety regulation and compliance, you will be able to critically review and monitor KPI's and recommend action to Senior Management on issues affecting H&S, efficiency & quality.
You will have a keen interest in developing your team through communication and engagement enabling you to introduce change initiatives to meet business objectives.

Control of Contractors
Permit to work systems
Calibration
PAT Testing
Lock out-Tag out procedure
