Salary Scale £21,000 - £22,000 depending on experience
Working hours 37.5 hours per week 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum plus bank holidays.
Core purpose of role –
· Co-ordinating volunteer projects at Ashford Volunteer Centre.
Main responsibilities and duties:
· To manage the development and implementation of various volunteer projects at Ashford Volunteer Centre Befriending Scheme
· To recruit volunteers, in accordance with the organisation’s recruitment process.
· To provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers to enable them to receive the maximum benefits from the programme
· To record data to enable the organisation to monitor the progress of the volunteering projects evaluate its overall effectiveness.
· Provide monthly reports to the Chief Executive about the performance of the service.
· To carry out DBS checks
· To Facilitate training sessions on volunteering, for Adult Education courses if required
· Manage allocated new projects as business needs change to meet the needs of the community and the volunteer centre.
Along with all AVC team members:
1. To help ensure that the equality of opportunity is integral to all AVC work and in particular, to ensure that the needs of marginalised groups are fully recognised in all aspects of its work
2. To undertake all necessary steps to be familiar with the Health & Safety Policy, taking due regard for the health and safety of oneself, colleagues, volunteers and visitors
3. To work with other AVC team members, to attend AVC staff meetings, supervision, training (as identified and deemed as appropriate), trustee meetings (as and when required) and other activities as appropriate
4. Attend events to promote the benefits and value of the service, and the work of AVC
5. Contribute to publications such as e-bulletins/newsletters and ensure that all marketing and promotional material is informative, up-to-date and accurate. Contribute to the ongoing development of AVC’s social media pages and website, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly and are appropriate and useful to stakeholders
6. To ensure any information about any individuals that is deemed personal, private or sensitive is treated with confidentiality and that the Data Protection Act is adhered to at all times
7. To ensure that AVC remains compliant with the requirements of any Quality Accreditation the organisation may hold
8. Contribute to the planning and running of all AVC’s events including AGM
9. Contribute to the strategic direction and sustainability of the charity
10. Work within AVC ethos which includes a non-judgmental and passionate approach
11. To regularly review AVC’s policies and procedures and comply with them
12. To undertake any other task that may be required occasionally, in furtherance to AVC’s objectives
