Homelessness services are currently experiencing extra demand due to the impact of the pandemic. Working as part of Kent Homeless Connect (a network of homelessness support services which includes Porchlight), you will support people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.
This will involve helping people to remain housed or access safe accommodation, and also to address any other issues they are facing (often working with other organisations to do so). You will also ensure sure people are eligible to receive a Covid vaccine and helping them to do so, as well as Covid testing services and other healthcare support.
The role requires:
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Some knowledge or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable people
- A full driving licence and access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equality Act 2010).
Interview date: 2nd July 2021
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2022
Location: Positions available in Canterbury, Thanet & Dover
Working Pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required
