A new position has opened up for a permanent Maintenance Engineer to join an expanding team based in the Dartford area. You will be required to visit client premises mainly in the London area, with the possibility of nationwide travel and overnight stays.

You will be responsible for the servicing, breakdown cover and testing of electrical and fire alarm systems across a wide variety of client sites. You must be able to identify and recommend action for faulty or redundant systems and where necessary, repair or replace system components to remove repetitive issues and ensure durability.

The role requires the maintaining of fire alarm systems and smoke venting systems on occupied developments and emergency call-out basis in line with contracted expectations. In order to successfully carry out this role you will require an understanding of smoke ventilation systems, inverters, dampers and detection systems and be able to work to tight deadlines in accordance with project requirements and the ability to safely perform lone working.

You will need to be highly organised and be comfortable with administration inclusive of daily report sheets, supplying the maintenance office-based staff with full equipment details of any faulty equipment, timesheets, vehicle checklists, expense forms etc.

As you will be driving a company vehicle, therefore, it is essential you hold an up to date driving licence, with a maximum of 6 points for insurance purposes

The working hours for this job role is based around 8am - 5pm, however flexibility is required and you will be required to be part of the out of hours call out rota (usually one week in every eight).
