This is a great new instruction for 3 Community Area Officers, which are similar to a Community Warden position, to cover either Folkestone, Hythe or New Romney districts depending on your location.
You will be working for the local Council, for the summer season (June – September inclusive) so a great opportunity to top up your income!
No specific experience is required.
Instead, qualified by experience is considered more important, as are your softer skills, including a positive outlook, a calm and approachable nature and good communication skills, with the ability to interact with the general public where required together with reasonable “local” knowledge.
What does the role entail?
Each Community Area Officer will be visible to the general public and required to patrol their individual district (this can either be on foot if no driving licence, push bike or using a small works vehicle which can be provided), in order to monitor and observe the surroundings, ensuring public areas are safe, clean and tidy, communicating and interacting with members of the public as required, providing assistance, support or advice whilst out on the streets/your route, reporting any problems or issues that occur to your Manager.
Hours of work & rate of pay etc:
You will be contracted to work 37 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, with a focus on Friday through to Sunday, with your remaining hours worked during other week days to suit.
An exceptional hourly rate between £12.00 - £13.50 per hour is available.
Weekly pay, holiday pay.
Uniform provided.
The client will be holding informal chats as opposed to full on interviews in order to get to know individuals.
