Transport Manager

A rare and exclusive opportunity has arisen for a Transport Manager to join an independently owned business in Mid Kent.

This role required solid Export Fright experience, ideally including dealing with the USA.

This area of the business is growing rapidly, so requires someone who is able to manage existing demands whilst having he foresight to support this growth.

Duties are varied, but include:

* Overseeing daily delivery, despatch, customer service and export - 3 direct reports including a transport planner as well as a 4 further indirect (drivers)
* Acting as main point of contact for all export freight including negotiation of prices and optimising lead times
* Co-ordinating daily movement of materials from UK to suppliers
* Ensuring the best customer service across all areas of responsibility
* Managing transport related data using the MRP software
* Supporting process improvement regarding operational procedures

To be successful you will have/be:

* Solid Export Freight experience - including USA
* Experience managing a delivery/despatch team
* Proven negotiation skills
* A genuinely customer-centric approach
* Experience within manufacturing
* Strong MRP/ERP experience
* Strong management skills with a proven track record
