The Role

Noel Tatt are a greetings card publisher with a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Project Leader to join our Design Studio Team. Your role will be to coordinate exciting new seasonal ranges suitable for our wide range of customers. They include occasions such as Mother’s Day, Easter and Christmas. This will involve leading the ranges from design concept, ensuring there is a good variety of styles, finishes and price points; to getting artwork ready to print and ending with quality checks of the final products.

New Challenges
Our latest challenge is reducing the environmental impact of our greetings cards. We are proactively looking at ways to do this; from removing flitter, supplying cards unwrapped and recently introducing plastic free Christmas card boxed product and multi-packs. This will continue to be a strong focus for this role moving forward.

Responsibilities
- Deliver each seasonal range by agreed deadlines.
- Analysis of sales data and trends to steer art direction.
- Sourcing and commissioning of new artwork
- Putting together treatment selection for designs along with their associated costings, optimising cost vs. value for money to the customer.
- Liaising with studio managers to plan resources needed for each project.
- Checking files completed by studio formatters.
- Creating print ready layouts.
- Creating mock-ups of greetings card designs.
- Designing packaging for multi-card products.
- Quality control checks of pre-production and production samples.
- Creation and art direction of point-of-sale materials, visual aids and brochures.
- Admin tasks such as raising purchase orders.

Skills you will have:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – to include Photoshop and InDesign. Illustrator skills advantageous.
- A good eye for design and visualisation of finished treatments.
- Excellent project and time management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships. You will be liaising with different departments within the business along with design agencies, freelance artists and suppliers.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with print processes.

Useful skills to have:
- use of Filemaker databases
- use of Microsoft office and teams.
- a love of Christmas, this project is worked on throughout the year!

The position is a full-time role Monday – Friday with working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm. The role is based at the office in Canterbury. Due to the current Covid restrictions the whole studio team are either working fully or partially from home; only coming in to the office when necessary. There may be opportunity once restrictions are lifted to negotiate some working hours to continue from home. There will need to be an initial training period carried out in the office.
