Bearsted Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for a pupil with Type 1 Diabetes. The successful candidate will join our highly collaborative and supportive team, as soon as possible.

The main responsibilities of the successful candidate will be:

Supporting the named pupil for the practical aspects of the monitoring, management and treatment as per the Individual Healthcare Plan
Liaising and reporting with parent/carer
Addressing any gaps in learning if the named pupil is out of the learning environment for any periods of time due to their medical need
Previous experience in supporting a pupil with Type 1 Diabetes is highly advantageous. ​​​​​​​

This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2021 in the first instance, offering an actual salary of £11,512 (FTE £16,825) based on 30 hours per week and Term Time + 1 week of inset. Every effort will be made to secure a permanent position therefafter.


Bearsted Primary Academy: Bearsted Primary Academy, opened in September 2020, will be welcoming its first cohort of Reception children of up to 60 pupils, two classes of 30 in each. Every year we will continue to grow our academy until we reach full capacity of 420 pupils across Years R - 6. As Leigh Academies Trust’s brand new Free School, we aim to provide its children with a nurturing and enriching environment.

Our aim at Bearsted Primary Academy is to allow all children an opportunity to reach their full potential, where ambition knows no bounds making every moment count. Surrounded by talented, dedicated practitioners, we aim to deliver pupils engaging and challenging experiences and opportunities within their education, which are both enjoyable and develop a thirst for learning.
