A Senior Purchasing Officer is required to join an international manufacturing business based in East Kent. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing a key area of responsibility will be to support some of the junior members of the purchasing department and enhance their growing skills.

As this is a senior position applicants should be well motivated and have a strong knowledge of purchasing ideally with indirect purchasing experience and you will be able to provide guidance to the team on purchasing related queries.

Responsibilities

* Analyse and deliver current and future stock requirements to ensure business targets are achieved.
* Encourage collaboration within all areas of the Company to understand factors influencing supply chain and seek to reduce waste and improve processes to achieve business objectives.
* Develop supplier relationships for the benefit of the business ensuring best value.
* Engage excellent problem-solving techniques to maintain stock availability and minimise costs.
* Understand and exceed customer expectations
* Ensure strategic management and development of stock availability to meet customer demands within the business objectives

The successful person will have sound purchasing knowledge, a manufacturing background would be beneficial, although not essential, advanced Excel skills, an organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail and great leadership skills.
