Interpersonnel are pleased to be recruiting for an Operations Manager for on of our clients located on the outskirts of Ashford. They specialise in the manufacture of high quality low volume sheet metal components in a range of materials.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven operations manager to fill a new position in our clients company. You should have experience in managing production in the manufacturing sector, and be looking for the next step in your career.

The role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to manage a medium sized team plus manage various business activities.

Reporting to the board, while receiving training and support from it, the Operations Manager:
● manages the workshop staff, office staff and suppliers
● oversees the company’s processes
● implements the company’s strategy.

The successful candidate makes sure the staff operates efficiently. Working with the production team, they understand the production staff’s motivation, and solves any staff issues that may arise in the workshop.

You would deal with training and growing the staff’s skills, manages the disciplinary process, and oversees recruitment.

The Operations Manager conducts regular staff presentations, explaining the progress on the company’s strategy and the KPIs.

The production engineer and the Administrator report to the OM.

Oversight of company’s processes
In the spirit of continuous improvement, the OM makes small daily improvements to the company’s written processes, and trains the staff on these processes and improvements.

The OM manages and improves the ISO-9001 quality management system, and presents it to the external auditor yearly.

The OM gathers improvement ideas from staff, suppliers and customers, and manages non-conformities.

The OM studies and reports on the key performance indicators of the IT, finance and sales processes, but is not responsible for them.

Strategy implementation
The OM discusses the strategy defined at board-level with the board members and is responsible for its implementation.

The OM relies on external and internal resources, with the board’s coaching and advice, to reach the month’s strategic goals.

The OM takes part in daily team meetings, and reports its progress on goals during monthly board meetings.

The OM assists in integrating future acquisitions with the help of the board.

The package
Salary will be dependent on experience.
Hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm (30 minutes lunch) Monday to Friday.
20 days holiday per year + bank holidays.
