Our client based in Mid Kent are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join their payroll team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroller to join an established professional team and work with a reputable Firm in the Kent area. This role could be considered on a Part-time or Full-time basis.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will assist in supplying a payroll service for a large number and variety of clients. This includes running monthly and weekly payrolls ranging from one employee to multiple employees in size, completing year-end returns, administering pension schemes on behalf of clients and dealing with HMRC queries. You will be answering ad hoc queries for both internal and external clients. You will be working directly with Partners and Managers on a daily basis.
You will be flexible in your approach and attitude. This is a friendly and experienced team so you should be able to sit conformably in a busy working environment and be able to demonstrate confidence and personality. Client focused, you will be able to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision, liaising directly with internal and external clients face-to-face and by telephone as required.
This is an all-round general practice role and would suit an experienced payroll assistant who has worked previously in a fast passed bureau or similar environment.
You will be responsible for supporting a payroll portfolio:
Manage a high volume of invoicing/billing.
Dealing with umbrella or CIS payroll preferred
Knowledge of auto enrolment
Clear understanding of manual PAYE and NIC calculations.
Dealing with bacs payments
Dealing with all documents inclining PAYE, payslips, sick pay, P11D`s, P45`s etc.
Managing data and running reports
Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
Ability to work under pressure.
Strong ITC skills are key and knowledge of Sage is essential
