Production Engineer
£25,000 - £30,000/pa depending on experience + Benefits
Herne Bay, Kent
This is a great opportunity to work for a multi-award-winning leading manufacturing company as Production Engineer. Using your production engineering knowledge you will provide manufacturing technical support for a variety of products ensuring all operational targets are met, the product is to the required standard and Production equipment is maintained.
Role Responsibilities:
* To provide engineering support in an electronics assembly environment.
* Improving manufacturing techniques, product quality and cycle time reduction through process improvement techniques.
* To drive a Zero Defects Forward quality culture.
* To participate in the new product introduction process, working collaboratively with Development Engineering and the Manufacturing areas.
* To provide manufacturing technical support for a diverse product range.
* Provide root cause analysis of reoccurring issues and the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
* Establish and champion a culture of lean manufacturing that engages all staff and to identify improvement opportunities.
* Produce electronic Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions using Microsoft Office to ensure accurate and repeatable manufacturing processes.
* Take a leading role in contributing Design for Manufacture (DFM) input to the product development process and ongoing design review processes.
* Contributing to the Change Review process and implementing any resulting changes to manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Accurately manage, plan and cost projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
Candidate Profile:
* A minimum of 2 years Production Engineering or Manufacturing Support experience within an electronics manufacturing environment.
* Professionally qualified with a Degree or HND in an electronic discipline.
* Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvements techniques.
* Working knowledge of Quality Assurance, Configuration and Process Controls.
* Demonstrable experience of use with contemporary CAD systems such as AutoCAD.
* Working knowledge of RF product manufacture and test equipment desirable but not essential.
