My Client is the sole manufacturer of their product in the whole of the UK, and their parent company is the world's leading manufacturer. They are currently looking for an experienced Engineering Stores Controller, to operate and improve store keeping, inventory control and procurement functions.

This is a demanding role, in a continuous operation



The Role: Engineering Stores Controller

Responsible for administration, procurement, storage and accessibility of stock and consumable items

Develop, implement and maintain inventory critical rating procedure

Responsible to review and define optimum inventory control levels

Responsible for accuracy of stock items profile in a computerised Stores Management system and other relevant systems i.e. CMMS

Develop and carry out inventory turnover analysis

Responsible for procurement of stock items and engineering materials and services

Reconciliation of stock holding records against defined inventory levels .

Adhere to tendering process, if applicable, or direct negotiation with suppliers to achieve the best price

Operate and administrate computerised ordering system

Responsible for plant hire and lease contracts



Skills / Experience / Qualifications: Engineering Stores Controller

5 years' experience in similar roles within manufacturing facilities

Proven experience and knowledge of low volume high value inventory and stores management systems

CIPS qualification desirable

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong personal organisation

Ability to work unsupervised, productively, efficiently & effectively under tight timescales

Working experience of JDE applications is desirable

Good negotiation skills

A good understanding of mechanical and electrical components

Forklift truck driving licence or the willingness and ability to obtain

Eligibility to obtain a gun licence due to storage of ammunition in stores

Health and Safety training. IOSH certification is desirable

SAP experience desirable
