We are delighted to share a new Site Manager position, starting in August 2020! We are looking for a committed and reliable individual to join our collaborative team and to manage both the neighbouring Snowfields Academy and Bearsted Primary Academy sites. This is a truly exciting opportunity as our brand new schools open in September.

Our successful candidate will have previous premises management experience, taking full responsibility for the care and maintenance of the premises. You will be a key player in ensuring the high standards of compliance are maintained and that facilities are safe and fit for purpose.You will manage a team that includes 4 experienced premises operatives and work closely with the Business Manager to ensure that the internal and external environment is conducive to the promotion of learning. A knowledge of Health and Safety is essential to this role as well as being able to communicate effectively.

This is a permanent, full-time position and we offer 25 days holiday per annum (plus bank holidays) which increases based on length of service.

Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, therefore early applications are encouraged!

Please be aware that the salary for the successful candidate is based on experience and qualifications. A breakdown is provided below:

-Lower scale - Unqualified, does not hold the NEBOSH full certificate.
-Upper scale - Qualified, does hold the NEBOSH full certificate.


Snowfields Academy: Snowfields Academy is a new secondary provision for students with ASD. We will offer 140 places across year groups 7-13 for young people who are working at or close to age related expectations. Class sizes will be small with 12 in each class, supported by 2-3 teaching assistants according to need. We will offer a range of GCSEs and other qualifications for young people on a blend of academic and vocational pathways. The academy will benefit from being a brand new school with a design tailored to the students it provides for, carefully considered to make the most of both its inside and outside environments in order to enhance the learning of its students. The environment will support specialisms in horticulture and catering with a purpose designed teaching kitchen, servery and cafe, and internal and external horticulture facilities supporting our students into employment. We will work closely with local businesses to offer an outstanding range of work experience opportunities and supported internships.

Bearsted Primary Academy: We offer our children a range of additional experiences and support, including regular trips and visitors, sports coaching, after-school clubs, counselling and play therapy. The academy has been recognised as having ‘good’ leadership and management, and the whole staff team are striving for constant improvement together. Our academy is a happy, caring and vibrant community which offers a stimulating learning environment. By developing potential, drive and self-esteem we help everyone to become a unique, responsible, respectful, motivated and successful individual. The academy caters for boys and girls from the age of three to eleven years. It is well equipped, having its own nursery, library, two halls, kitchens and extensive outdoor areas.We aim to give every child the very best start to their education through lively and engaging teaching using an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum. We want our children to enjoy a wide range of experiences which bring the curriculum to life and make learning active, meaningful and relevant. All staff work hard to ensure the best possible quality of education for the children in every class. To be successful you need to be passionate, knowledgeable and possess the ability to work consistently at an excellent level. Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of January 2020, our Trust is comprised of 25 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 13 primaries and 1 special) educating over 15,000 students, and employing over 3,000 talented staff. We also have three further academies in development phase, due to open between September 2020-2021. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training providers and a large teaching school.
