Principal Systems Engineer



Senior Systems Engineer, Chelmsford. My client, a world-renowned Industry Sector company, are looking for an Senior Systems Engineer to join the Chelmsford based team. You will be working within an established team of professionals who will all have a similar skill set and background to yourself, so you will be able to interact with like-minded individuals on a daily basis.





Would you like to play a key role directing, developing and designing engineering solutions? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer at our clients' site Chelmsford.





Key Requirements:



* Supporting the design of radar systems through the entire engineering development lifecycle from requirement definition to system integration and customer acceptance, then into system support
* Discern and decompose user, legislative and safety requirements to system and sub-system level requirements, supported by ongoing requirements management
* Undertaking system design decomposition and architecting to subsystem level, working directly with the System Design Authority
* Undertaking the specification and design of associated external and internal interfaces
* Applying radar performance prediction and design trade-off of principle radar parameters in order to realise design constraints and limitations
* Directing and undertaking design, development and validation of algorithmic solutions to address radar performance and radar capability requirements
* Directing and undertaking analysis of data collected from radar operation and radar trials to contribute to design solutions based upon the analysis of such data
* Defining and directly facilitating activities to realise radar system integration
* Defining and articulating acceptance strategies in order to verify requirement compliance at each appropriate level of system design





Your skills and qualifications:



* Relevant Engineering/Mathematic/Scientific qualification and/or experience
* Chartered engineer or willing to work towards professional status
* Able to demonstrate advanced Mathematics skills
* Appreciation and practice of the holistic approaches to Systems Thinking and Systems Engineering
* Good level of IT literacy
* Able to produce technical reports
* Experience of Requirements Management, and Configuration Management
* Experience of mathematical simulation tools; e.g. MATLAB and Simulink
* Experience of working with radar (or similar system) design
* Experience of advanced signal processing and tracking techniques or image processing
