Based in Rochester, Must Have Ideas Ltd is a friendly, small but rapidly growing ecommerce company selling household, beauty, garden and pet products to our growing customer base in the UK and USA.
We are looking for a Buyer to join our small but busy friendly team to help us keep up with growing demand for our innovative products.
You will be responsible for our entire buying operation: from the placement of the PO with the supplier, through organising the freight and until the goods are delivered. This is a busy, demanding but rewarding role that requires focus and attention to detail.
(Please note: We are currently based on the Medway City Estate, but in early 2021 we will be moving to swanky new premises in Snodland, so please make sure you are comfortable with both of those locations.)
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers (both overseas, European and UK based)
• Stock forecasting to ensure that we place orders on a just-in-time basis
• Ownership of the Far East supply chain, including dealing with freight forwarders to organise the shipment of orders (both air and sea freight) and tracking the freight progress through until delivery
• Monitoring stock levels and sales forecasts to ensure orders are placed at the perfect time to minimise our stock holding but ensuring we are never out of stock
• Price negotiations with suppliers to ensure we are always getting the best quality at the best price
• Stock control - conducting monthly stock takes and investigating any discrepancies, working with the warehouse team and Dispatch Manager to eliminate any losses
• Ensuring that all suppliers adhere to our supplier terms and conditions
• Ensure that we have a back-up supplier in place for every product in our range
You must:
• Have experience of buying and, ideally, importing goods
• Be well motivated, enthusiastic and a good team player
• Have very good attention to detail and be able to perform under pressure
• Computer literate
