KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

To be responsible for the entire hygiene function at the Berry Gardens Packhouse in aspects relating to cleaning and cleaning team.
To ensure all areas of the site are cleaned thoroughly by the cleaning team and ready for production to be carried out. This will include all areas (from production machines to the floor) of packhouse, warehouse, external of the building, all offices and supportive areas (canteen, corridors, stair cases etc). Make sure that cleaning schedules followed at all times and complete all provided paperwork.

PRINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To manage proactively the team of cleaners so that there is adequate flexible provision of cleaning staff provided at all times.
To offer assistance to the cleaning department so they can carry out their duties in a more efficient manner, line clean downs. Make sure that paperwork completed in the correct manner.
To help cleaners communicate with each other more efficiently and ensuring everyone is fully aware of what is required from them. This includes quality standards, office cleaning standards, hygiene policy and health & safety regulations.
Adhere to the clean as you go policy by ensuring working area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Ensure technical and legislative requirements are fulfilled by the cleaning team during the cleaning process.
To liaise directly with the Head of QA and Compliance and QA Admin on all relevant issues.
Other ad hock duties as required.


PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
Disciplined in maintaining a clean / hygienic environment to produce safe product.
Attention to detail in all aspects of the role and meticulous in record keeping and at following technical procedures.
Positive attitude to food safety
Proven ability to operate to tight deadlines
The ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural boundaries; offering a helping hand as and when required.
Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required.
Self-motivated and able to deal with the pressures and frustrations of a production environment in a calm and controlled manor.
Demonstrate a high work ethic and commitment to the company. Shows integrity and demonstrates adaptability and flexibility.
