Primarily the role will involve several different activities undertaken in connection with existing and proposed utilities and infrastructure through Openreach's FTTP (Fibre to The Premises) project. Specifically , this will involve 3 to 5 days a week of onsite surveying throughout the UK - training with regards to the involved works will be provided. Site designs will be required for installatin of equipment and fibre routes, ensuring designs are cost and specification compliant, with designs being annotated principally in a field-based environment on tablet devices. All survey work and submissions must be completed in an efficient and organised manner as well as being checked for accuracy and quality, adopting a right first-time approach in all instances to ensure compliance with strict deadlines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for updating of client and departmental trackers as and when required. Regular and accurate communication with your Team Leader, colleagues, external subcontractors and the client will be paramount.
In addition to the above duties, the candidate will provide administrative and surveying support to other areas of the business including, but not limited to, acquisition and town planning. This may include the preparation of reports and correspondence, as well as communication with clients, colleagues, local authorities, other stakeholders and members of the public, in both verbal and written forms.
A large percentage of the job will be field based. With offices and clients across the UK, there will be the opportunity and requirement for some travel. The candidate will be expected to manage their workload across different projects, have a desire to succeed and be ready to produce exceptional results for demanding clients.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Good IT skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good written & verbal communication skills with an excellent attention to detail
- Able to work well in a team
- Ability to work under pressure and in a target driven environment
- Able to deal with continuous change
- Full driving licence and able to drive long distances when required.
Desirable skills:
- Telecoms or property industry experience
- A basic understanding of Town Planning & Highways procedures
It is suitable that candidates have their own vehicle which is available for business use.
