Are you a HGV Class 2 truck driver looking for a new opportunity?

The Best Connection Employment Group are currently seeking a class 2 driver to fulfil a temp to perm position in Rochester.

The role itself requires the candidate to deliver office furniture to new, or in the process of a renovation, offices mainly based in London and the surrounding areas.

A typical day usually consists of 1 drop, maybe 2 if the client has entered their peak period. It is essential that candidates have a flexible attitude towards start times, as you could be starting from as early as 05:00, and as late as 15:00. Once you arrive to the depot, you will be required to report to a member of staff, who will then pass over your delivery notes, it is not uncommon that you may be working alongside another driver, so you will follow your colleague as a convoy until you reach the destination. Other times you will be working alone, so a knowledge of London and the surrounding areas are preferred, but not essential. Once you arrive to your destination, you will meet a team of people, also employed by the client, who will then help you unload the vehicle, and ensure that the furniture is placed into the new office ready for installation. You will then be required to wait for the furniture to be installed by the team, once they have completed the installation, they will place the plastic covers/rubbish into your vehicle, and you will then take the vehicle back to the depot and finish your shift.

Please be aware that the role will involve handball, therefore you will be expected to leave the vehicle, and help unload in order to speed up the process.

It is essential that the candidate can work weekends. This does not mean you will work every weekend, but if you know that weekends are completely out of the picture, then unfortunately this role will not be suitable for you.

What is a temp to perm? A temp to perm position means that you will be working through The Best Connection for 12 weeks, and then you will sign a contract with the specific client on the 13th week, therefore working directly for the client from then onwards.


Pay Rate during the temp to perm period:

£11.00 per hour (guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week)


Pay rate after the temp to perm period:

£12.00 per hour (guaranteed a minimum of 50 hours per week)


To be eligible for this position you must possess:

- Category C entitlement
- No more than 6 points
- Valid CPC
- Valid Digi-Card
- Experience driving in London and the surrounding areas preferred, but not essential
- Willingness to complete handball
- A friendly attitude (Customer Facing)
- Commitment (5-6 days in a working week)
- Flexible (Start times vary)
- Happy to work weekends
