Working as part of our Network Infrastructure Team, in a field-based role, you will help us to deliver our fibre optic and copper technology network infrastructure projects throughout the South East.
We have an ever-growing portfolio of projects, particularly working with leading UK ISPs to deliver fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) internet services on both new-build sites and existing properties. Additionally, we deliver a number of copper networking projects, typically within a business environment including Cat-5 and Cat-6 technologies.
In addition to the “cabling” elements of our projects, you will be required to install active, passive and switching equipment.
The role will involve the following day-to-day activities;
• Splice and secure fibre “in-situ” (this forms the bulk of the work requirement).
• Occasional installation of fibre optic cabling on a smaller scale.
• Install passive and active networking equipment both within cabinets and end-user premises.
• Terminate fibre links and test as required using Fluke OTDR testing equipment.
• Install, terminate and test Cat5/Cat6 copper links.
• Complete required documentation/related administration.
You will predominantly be working on residential building sites in the latter stages of completion/development, therefore an understanding of working safely in this environment will be crucial.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the required ability and experience to complete the above to a high standard at speed as required by the fast-growing nature of our business. This should be considered a role for an experienced individual.
You should have the following personal qualities;
• Reliability
• Professionalism
• Presentability
• Trustworthiness
• Discretion
• Good time keeping
• Ambition
• Team player
• Takes ownership and sees tasks through to completion
• Diligent and detail oriented
A clean, full UK driving license will be essential. You must hold a current ECS card in the relevant fibre optic field.
All required tools, equipment, vehicles and safety equipment shall be provided to you.
Any experience in delivering FTTP/FTTH solutions will be considered an advantage, but not a necessity.
