Learning Support Assistant
Tunbridge Wells site
Working Monday to Friday, 33½ hours per week, term time only
Oakley School is the district Special School for day pupils, aged from 2 to 19 years all of whom have severe and/or complex needs, with communication and learning difficulties.

We are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly, positive and forward-looking team at our Tunbridge Wells site.
As a Learning Support Assistant you would work closely with the teaching staff to support our pupils in all aspects of their learning, social development, personal needs and developing their skills for life and independence. In this role you will be able to make a big difference to our children, all of whom have a wide range of severe and/or complex needs, with communication and learning difficulties. The postholder will be based at our Tunbridge Wells site, but must be prepared to travel to, and work at, our Tonbridge site.
Candidates do not need experience of working in a special needs or education environment, although it would be advantageous, as would experience of Early Years. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills are essential, along with flexibility, resilience, strong communication and team working skills.
There are many career development opportunities for those interested in progression, including into teaching and other types of work with children and young people.
The hours are 33.5 per week, working Monday to Friday, term time only. The salary is within Kent Range Bands 3 to 4, £18,639 to £19,885 (including SEN allowance) per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) and reduced pro-rata for the hours/weeks actually worked.
Closing date is Friday, 21st February 2020. Interviews will be held on Friday, 28th February.
