Based in Broadstairs, we are looking to recruit a Laboratory Assistant to work for our large, globally recognised client.
Working hours are Monday-Friday 0830-1700.
Working in partnership with another Lab Assistant, the role's purpose is to contribute towards to smooth running of the laboratories by collecting raw material and consumables, organising waste disposal of ink, solvents, pots and recyclable materials and distributing lab coats, post and parcels. You will also be using the AS400 system to update stock levels and order materials so basic/intermediate IT skills are a must.
The role also involves driving various forklift trucks in order to collect raw materials. Forklift experience is advantageous although in house training will be given.
This role is best suited to someone who is able to work with minimal supervision and has a high regard for health and safety. Previous experience within a lab/scientific environment where chemicals are handled would be a distinct advantage. You will also have a great work ethic, a practical approach with a good eye for detail. Good team playing and communication skills are also essential.
