The council is actively looking at the management of land, securing and maintaining important assets and enabling the delivery of major regeneration projects in the borough. By doing so it is making Ashford a vibrant and thriving borough, as well as securing new funding streams to enable us to enhance our services and manage funding reductions from government.

The role will encompass the management of the Council’s commercial, industrial and other non-residential properties and holdings. Overseeing a portfolio of transactional challenges on matters relating to the acquisition, disposal and valuation of properties, including commercial landlord and tenant issues. Management of the Estates and in-house Facilities teams.

You will need to agree new and renewal leases, as well as rent reviews. To provide a professional valuation and estate management service to the Council in connection with its land and property holdings. Monitoring tenancy agreements. Making sure the property is being used appropriately and properties are well maintained and provide adequate returns on investment. You will have a Sound knowledge of landlord and tenant negotiations and an understanding of landlord & tenant law.

Applicants will have Considerable estate management experience. With good business and commercial acumen. You will hold a Professional qualification with a relevant degree qualification, minimum level 6 qualification, within estates management, property or surveying background. You will be a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent membership of a chartered property related recognised professional institute.
