Specialist Financial Services - DevOps Release Engineer - Kings Hill, Kent

My rapidly growing client based in Kings Hill business estate are looking to add an experienced professional to their 100+ strong IT team. This role will involve a lot of project work which the ideal candidate will be heavily involved in.

The main focus of the role is to create greater collaboration between the IT operations and development teams, enabling tasks and processes to be automated. The successful candidate will have a strong background as an infrastructure engineer or similar career with exposure to development methods.

This role will also have an involvement in back-end infrastructure, involving troubleshooting and continuously looking to improve systems, this will mean a strong knowledge around operating systems such as Windows, Virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Cloud technologies such as AWS.

Some of the key responsibilities for the role are listed below:-

* Keeping track of the deployments to the live and non-live environments
* Taking the lead on cycle meetings to contribute to release processes
* Providing support and resolving any incidents involving releases
* Operational support around live and non-live environments
* Representing IT Operations during releases, assisting with scheduling and mitigating issues
* Strong understanding and experience working within ITIL environment
* Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies including CI/CD
* Automation and Scripting knowledge, specifically with Powershell and SQL
* Knowledge of Azure, O365 and other cloud technologies

The technical requirements for the role are below:-

* Powershell, SQL, Microsoft Azure, PAAS, IAAS, Composer or Azure Automation, VMWare, Citrix, O365, ITIL certified

Salary wise, my client are looking to pay between £50-70,000 DOE + great bonus and benefits package.
