Hartley Primary Academy is a two form entry school with 14 classes in total. Our school has beautiful, extensive grounds and a range of teaching and learning facilities. We are fortunate to have a friendly and hardworking staff, both teaching and non-teaching and we have a very talented and multi-skilled team of Teaching Assistants who are led and managed by an excellent SENCO.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who'll join us in January 2020 on a permanent, part-time basis (20 hours per week). Our children come from a range of backgrounds and cultures and their needs are diverse. Behaviour for learning is outstanding, resulting in a positive and fulfilling work experience. You'll be providing support for children with additional learning needs by working alongside teachers in the classroom, in small groups and 1:1 at times. Hartley Primary Academy is a through-primary and therefore flexibility and willingness to work across the full age range, 4 -11, is essential. The job will include the delivery of individual work programmes, contributing to the planning and preparation, monitoring and evaluating the pupil's participation and progress, using ICT to advance the pupil's learning and confidence and providing feedback to the teacher. Many of our Teaching Assistants enjoy teaching whole classes to release teachers for PPA time and this is an essential requirement of this position.

-Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable
-Capable of working independently and in a team
-Able to motivate and support pupils
-Able to work with individual pupils and small groups of pupils
-Able to demonstrate experience with interventions and learning support
-Candidates should have a minimum of a Level 2 NVQ or equivalent and have experience of working within a primary school
-Possess an unending desire to help all children achieve their best
-Possess a caring nature and a deep regard for children
