Our Client based in Medway is currently seeking a HR Assistant to join their team on a 6 to 9 month contract to cover Maternity leave.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (39 hours per week) with an 30 minute break.
Salary: £22,000 pa
3 month probation period
Reporting to the HR Officer, you will be the first point of contact for all basic HR enquiries, whilst delivering a full range of HR administration.
Duties will include:
• Ensuring that all pre-employment checks are carried out.
• Processing starters’ and leavers’ paperwork
• Maintaining the Time & Attendance System
• Assisting in arranging and conducting interviews as and when required.
• Be responsible for the processing and monitoring of sickness absence, issuing return to work forms, highlighting any absence trends or requirements to the HR Officer and health & safety concerns to the Compliance Officer.
• Be responsible for producing and maintaining assigned HR reports
• Co-ordinating new starter inductions
• Assisting with arranging disciplinary or grievance meetings, including preparing the relevant documentation.
• Dealing with day to day HR related enquiries
Education/ Skills/ Attributes:
• Good Level of Education including Maths and English
• Level 3 CIPD qualification (or working towards)
• Worked as a HR Assistant or a similar environment
• HR generalist skills such as employee relations, recruitment and HR Administration as well as organisational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong skills in computer literacy
• Flexible, adaptable, confident and have a can do attitude
• Ability to assess the risks associated and other health and safety hazards associated with the job including the ability to communicate and report un-assessed risks to others.
