Our client, a leading international business, operating from the South Coast of Kent, are seeking to
appoint an experienced Financial Accountant to undertake a 15-month contract. Acting as a key member of the finance team, this role will take responsibility for the following areas and tasks:

• Preparation and reporting of the statutory financial accounts and associated information for all group companies, to relevant deadline
under UK GAAP and IFRS
• Producing consolidated monthly accounts and providing meaningful commentary on results
• To prepare and submit the corporation tax returns for all UK companies
• To manage and monitor the Group’s capital expenditure and capital budgeting
• To draft accounting papers for internal use when requested
• Completion of the annual audit and statutory accounts to required deadlines
• Advise Finance colleagues, the wider business and the Board on the implications of proposed changes to accounting rules
• Preparation of monthly financial accounts including Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
• Assistance with the preparation of forecasts, budgets, forward plans and other required reports
• Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled with appropriate frequency and understood to ensure accuracy of reporting
• Devising and implementing tax strategies to optimize the Group’s corporation tax position
• Processing all monthly capital accounting entries and reconciling capital balances

Candidates will be formally qualified (ACA or ACCA) and possess a strong financial accounting skillset, including recent preparation of statutory accounts, previous consolidations experience and a good working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. The ability to communicate at all levels of a business will also be key in addition to being able to start a role in Kent in November and commit to a period of 15 months.
