Front of House Hotel Operations Manager

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, in conjunction with the Aspinall Foundation, are a charity based conservation organisation committed to protecting rare and endangered animals from extinction through captive breeding and reintroduction programmes. The parks are home to one of the world’s most prized wild animal collections and are one of the biggest visitor attractions in Kent.
We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to lead a dedicated Hotel FoH Food & Beverages Team to deliver weddings, conferences, functions, banquets and events to an exceptional standard as well as providing a top class service to our hotel guests and visitors.
The Role:
There is a very clear vision for the Mansion Hotel at Port Lympne and the success of this role is at the heart of it. As part of a high level, 5* star boutique hotel in the grounds of the most unique conservation animal experience in the UK, the successful candidate will be central to the guest experience. Ensuring modern formal service throughout, you will lead a team of professionals who are always precise, polite and personable.
Service will be exemplary in the restaurant, bar and at all events, weddings, functions and meetings. Demanding the very best of yourself and your team, you will also command the respect of the Head Chef and kitchen team, demanding and expecting only the very best F&B product delivery.
Your passion for a superb product, presented perfectly and with unmatchable service will shine through in your own approach and in your development of your teams, alongside the expectations you agree with those who support the 0peration of the hotel.
The role would suit an experienced professional ready to bring their skills and knowledge to this vision for Port Lympne, or an extremely good current Assistant or Deputy ready to make their own mark
The Person:
• Must have strong related experience in hotel operations with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be highly organised, efficient and detail oriented.
• Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must have supervisory, coaching and staff development experience.
• Must have a strong business aptitude.
• Proven experience of budget management
Working Hours:
Required to work 45 hours a week mostly worked 5 days out of seven. A typical working week would center around peak times of turnaround and check–in through to the restaurant and bar closing.
