Senior Quantity Surveyor
Freelance Opportunity - Maidstone
The Client:
Multi discplined, highly succesful contractor who have a a great repuation with their clients and who have a fantastic team of senior managers who are experts in their field.
Position:
Seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a £10mil new build scheme in Kent. You will be commercial lead on this project reporting to the Commercial Manager.
* Manage commercial resources to maximise margin through the placement of subcontractor contracts.
* Control subcontract packages from enquiry through to final account.
* Package management and change control.
* Regularly review with the team contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate risk.
* Assessment of variations and valuations of subcontractor accounts.
* Authorise placement of contracts, materials and plant orders.
* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement, negotiation, invoicing and payment of the supply chain.
Requirements
* Ideally previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor
* Commercial lead for projects of similar value
* HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is desirable but not a necessity
* Highly Organised
* Good negotiation skills
