Lead Quality Engineer

Our client is looking for a Lead Quality Engineer to be part of an $8billion Corporation- a market leading, global, interconnect specialist. Our client specialises in design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for a highly demanding customer base in the Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors.

The successful candidate will help deliver unrivalled levels of excellence to support the in-house requirements of the business for the production of tooling.

This role will involve:
• Leading activities and investigating customer returns, whilst working with the Engineering team to identify and implement solutions to issues raised
• Managing product returns, conducting investigations to verify rejection and communicating requirements to Vendors to Investigate timely corrective actions
• Supporting the Buying team to monitor and report on supplier performance, as well as working with suppliers to improve their capabilities and performance
• Ensuring that both internal and external expectations and consistently met
• Providing feedback to customer quality queries
• Actively promoting and contributing to process and product improvement initiatives
Essential Qualities for this role:
• Engineering/Quality City and Guilds or HNC qualification or equivalent
• Experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
• Mechanical/Electrical manufacturing experience
• Good knowledge of Supplier Quality requirements, including managing customer accounts, process improvement techniques, maintain Quality records, conducting investigations into quality problems, as well as carrying out corrective actions and implementing robust countermeasures
• Knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, 8D, Control Plans, APQ/PPAP, Gauge R&R, etc
• Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems
• Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
Working hours for this role: Monday- Thursday 8am-5.30pm and Friday 8am-1pm
