Salary: £39,605 to £46,138 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Fixed term until 30th July 2020

Locations: Working across all sites of the Hadlow Group, based at Hadlow

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced manager to lead and deliver effective management of Health and Safety across the Hadlow Group. This is a key management role within Hadlow College; the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a safe, high quality learning and working environment is provided - as part of this commitment the successful candidate will be required to:

• To provide comprehensive Health and Safety advice to the Executive, Senior Management, Managers and staff all staff and ensure compliance in all areas.
• To regularly review Group policies, practices and procedures and amend or update them as needed.
• To update all existing records and procedures and generate new ones where necessary in regards to Health and Safety.
• To act as the organisation’s lead competent person for health and safety as defined by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
• To ensure the organisation complies with current health and safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
• To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation

The successful candidate will need:

• Significant relevant experience working within Health and Safety
• A Diploma in Health and Safety Management or Full NEBOSH Certificate – or equivalent
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of health and safety management strategies and best practice.
• Proven people management and leadership experience in a relevant management role
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent IT Skills in Microsoft office and Management Information Systems


As well as a contributory pension scheme and free car parking, this post also attracts 38 holiday days each year which includes 3 days, to be taken between Christmas and New Year plus 8 bank holidays
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
