The University of Kent has an excellent reputation for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), and this is a great opportunity to drive forward an already successful team. As Knowledge Transfer Manager, you will play a key role in leading engagement with businesses - public, private and third sector - to bring collaborative funding opportunities to the University, increasing the collaboration portfolio and generating income.
You will develop, implement and lead an ambitious growth plan to increase engagement, ensuring the team achieves or surpasses annual Key Performance Indicators on an ongoing basis. You will drive forward the growth of enterprise income, specifically focusing on KTP development.
As Knowledge Transfer Manager you will:
Proactively engage directly with the business community in order to grow the University’s enterprise portfolio and generate income
Take a leading role in the generation and management of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) projects across the University in order to support ambitious growth plans for this important funding stream
Work closely with all colleagues within Kent Innovation and Enterprise (KIE) team to understand potential funding streams available for business collaboration and make links with academics to promote opportunities for engagement
Team management
To be successful in this role you will be/have:
An honours degree (or equivalent)
Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
A proven track record of income generation, increasing revenue from existing clients and establishing new partnerships
Experience of supporting and establishing collaborative partnerships between both academic and business sectors
Knowledge and experience of Knowledge Transfer Partnership processes
