The University of Kent is recruiting for a School Programmes Assistant who will be a key member of the School’s professional service team undertaking a range of student-focused administrative duties for the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research (SSPSSR).
The principal aim of this role is to provide support in the area of student administration and the student experience ensuring the efficient administration of undergraduate taught programmes across the School. The role-holder will work alongside other professional services teams including Student Support and Communications and Recruitment to ensure a wide range of administrative duties are fulfilled in support of learning and teaching within the School.
The role-holder will work as part of a team within the Student Office based in Canterbury and also with academic colleagues including Directors of Study, Senior Tutor and Director of Education, and the wider Faculty/Central University including Central Student Administration Office (CSAO) and Faculty Support Office (FSO), ensuring the School provides an excellent student experience.
As Student Experience Assistant you will:
Act as a point of contact for all taught undergraduate students, advising on a wide range of matters to support a positive student experience
Provide a broad range of support and administrative service across undergraduate taught programmes
Provide administrative support to the Chairs of School wide committees and ensure committees are serviced and aligned with the University’s Code of Practice
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above, or equivalent qualification
Previous clerical or administrative experience in a customer facing role
Experience of using spreadsheets and databases on a regular basis (e.g. MS Office)
Proven ability to adopt an active approach to problem solving whilst assessing outcomes of own work and constantly reviewing processes to improve them
