Logistics and Purchasing Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing structural engineering company, specialising in steel mezzanine flooring, to work within our purchasing and logistics team as a purchasing assistant. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the on-time and to budget delivery of all components required for each Mezzanine Flooring installation project.
We are looking for someone who is a strong administrator and has an eye for detail because checking facts and figures is part of who you are. You will have a flair for numeracy and the ability to think “outside the box”. You be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Non-negotiable skills include excellent time-management; computer literate, confident in speaking to people over the phone and the ability to multi task.
Main Duties:
To make purchasing decisions that are cost effective and within budget.
To proactively manage project throughput including advising of project start dates and liaise with the contracts department regarding deliveries.
To proactively purchase long lead time components to avoid delays
To check next day deliveries and collections to identify delays
To work with the Group Procurement Manager to prevent fabricator overload
To work collaboratively with suppliers
Assist with accurate quotation of projects to support the business needs.
