Reporting to the Logistics Manager, an additional Side-loader Driver is required to assist with the movement of goods and materials around the works. The main duties will be the operation of a 5T diesel side-loader moving roof trusses, engineered timber joists, packs of timber and pallets including the loading and un-loading of lorries. Further duties may include more general yard operations such as picking timber and emptying of waste skips.
Previous experience in the operation of a side-loader is essential, whilst familiarity with the operation of a counter-balance fork lift truck is desirable. A suitable operator’s certificate is desirable, but this is not essential provided that the candidate can demonstrate the relevant experience. Candidates without an operator's certificate may only be issued a temporary contract until their skills are proven.
The working hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm (40 hours per week). Overtime working is available at times depending on the current workload.
The works is based at the rural hamlet of Shelvin approximately equidistant from Canterbury, Dover and Folkestone. Therefore, candidates will almost certainly require their owns means of transport to access the site.
