Position: Financial Controller

Farrer Barnes are delighted to be working with an education provider who are part of a unique family of schools, colleges and educational services spread across the UK.

Due to the opening of a new school in London our client is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.

The Financial Controller will set up new systems, processes, and controls (on the groups platforms). You will also manage the financial side of the school (forecasts, monthly management accounts, day to day financial control).

This will need a senior level person with experience of Financial Turnaround situations but one who is not averse to having to handle the basics themselves. You will also need to have prior experience of working within the Education sector, preferable in a school setting.

You will report directly to the CFO.

The salary banding for this position is £60,000 - £85,000 per annum, for exceptional candidates this could be stretched.

Interviews will take place at the back end of August with the view that the new Financial Controller will start in September or October.

Qualifications & Experience

Recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
Candidates Qualified by Experience will be considered.

Significant exposure to preparing monthly management accounts to a timely deadline.
Effective Project management.
Financial management in the education sector would be a strong advantage.
