An exciting new Finance Manager role has arisen at a national Business Services / Consultancy firm, based in the Bromley / Beckenham area of North Kent / SE London for a period of 12 months on a Fixed Term Contract basis.

The overseas parent company is a listed business on their local stock exchange and employs 2000 staff in the UK. This vacancy has arisen due to a promotion of the existing incumbent to Financial Controller and would involve managing four staff including three Qualified Management Accountants.

The successful applicant would come from a large company background, be at least 3 years post ACCA / CIMA Qualified and have proven people management skills.

Role purpose

- Run and manage the Management Accounts Team to deliver financial reporting to group timetable requirements.
- Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director with ad hoc projects as required
- Oversee and Review Financial Regulatory Returns (exp of Regulatory not necessary)
- Direct Reports 4 (3 qualified, 1 part qualified accounts assistant)

Main Responsibilities:

Manage the overall month end process with limited review points from the Financial Controller and Finance Director to prepare accurate monthly financial results for a business unit; analyse variances in results and provide feedback to management in a timely manner.

Manage and co-ordinate the team to produce accurate annual budgets for income and costs, and update forecasts regularly, as necessary.

Ensure that the following are completed to a high standard within the prescribed deadlines;-

- Divisional Flash Report
- Local Business Review pack
- Business Review Pack
- CFO report

Review and follow-up review points for Balance Sheet reconciliations. Focus on WIP and Debtors with a view to minimizing Working Capital.

Be the first point of contact to the Management Accounts team for queries in relation to;-
- VAT queries, Balance Sheet reconciliations & Regulatory returns

Provide direction and oversight to the Management Accounts team for
- Forecasting, Business Plans & Year-end stat packs

Manage the relationship with external auditors answering any queries by supplying complete and accurate back-up.

Qualifications and skills

Minimum of 3 years post Qualification CIMA/ACCA with experience in Business
Strong & proven people management skills
Must have excellent working knowledge of Excel inc V-Look ups, Formulas, Sum ifs
Must have ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Must have ability to multi-task and cope with a matrix management structure
Key leadership skills
Key communication skills both oral and written, able to win the trust of staff at all levels of the business
Ability to communicate with Directors and Business Heads
Strong accounting skills
Ability to see the wider issues across a business unit
