Our client is looking for a Tool Engineer to be part of a $9billion Corporation- a market leading, global, interconnect specialist. They specialise in design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for a highly demanding customer base in the Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors.

The successful candidate will help deliver unrivaled levels of excellence to support the in-house requirements of the business for the production of tooling.

This role will involve:

• Producing new and refurbished tooling and/ or making improvements to tooling (both moulding and assembly of products)
• Machining tooling to exact tolerances
• Developing new and innovative tooling to aid manufacture
• Carrying out model shop activities to support development samples and tooling for NPI

Essential qualifications needed for the role:

• City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working as a toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician or Toolmaker
• Knowledge of machining to exacting tolerances (using methods such as grinding, turning and milling etc)
• Working knowledge and experience of mould tool/press tool manufacture and assembly tool manufacture
• Ability to demonstrate skills required to produce tooling in milling, turning, grinding (cylindrical and/ or surface spark eroding or bench fitting)
