General duties to include:
• Completion of day to day Dover road freight customs clearance work
• Completion of the deep-sea customs operations
• Booking and delivery operations of deep-sea containers
• Completion and amendment of freight bookings as required
• Stamping and processing of required customs documentation
• Assist other Customs Clerks with completion of required paperwork
• Process amendments and correspondence to customs
• Completion of excise declarations
• Process data on the HM Revenue & Customs online Intrastat System

Specific skills and experience:
• Have a good understanding of customs procedures and principles and a keen desire to continue your learning
• IT literate with a good understanding of the use of Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines
• Be conscientious and have attention to detail
• Excellent team working and communication with people of all levels
• Ability to identify and report problems
