EXPERIENCED COOK REQUIRED for 29 hours per week to help run the kitchen at our 30 bedded care home in Whitstable

£9.00 per hour plus time and a half on hours worked over and above contracted hours (terms apply).

Must hold level 3 hygiene certificate and a level 2/3 in food preparation/catering.

Must have previous experience of working within a busy kitchen environment (commercial or business setting) – THIS IS ESSENTIAL.

An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this position – which we will pay for.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• To prepare, cook and serve quality home cooked meals to the highest standard
• Ensure that balanced meals are given and dietary and cultural needs are met
• Ensure the kitchen is run efficiently, and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene of a five star food rated kitchen are maintained.
• Ensure all stock ordered is consistent with planned menus that reflect choice and preference
• Maintain an accurate stock control
• Ensure all documentation is kept up to date according to current legislation
• To care for all kitchen equipment and ensure that it is operated correctly and safely and that the kitchen, food store, cupboards and equipment is cleaned and maintained to a high standard as per the kitchen cleaning schedule
• To be aware of COSHH and health and safety regulations and abide by these
• To complete all required training when it is due and attend staff meetings
• Support work colleagues and cover shifts where necessary

SHIFT PATTERN:

Week 1 and 3 – Monday 8am – 5.30pm, Saturday 8am – 7pm, Sunday 8am – 7pm

Week 2 and 4 – Monday 8am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 8am – 7pm, Friday 8am – 7pm
