Advanced Healthcare Ltd, the UK’s leading dental materials manufacturer with an excellent reputation for high quality products, has a job opening for a Packaging Manager.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Manage the day to day running of the packaging department, ensuring that customers’ orders are packed & dispatched on time and planning for resources accordingly.
• Manage all current and new customers packaging related requirements.
• Manage a team of packaging operators handling various packing, picking and dispatching activities.
• Co-operate effectively with managers from other departments to ensure that customers’ orders are prioritised, and quality standards are met.
• Responsible for managing the warehouse, maximising space and safety.
• Manage and develop cost saving initiatives.
• Identify and recommend changes to systems and processes as appropriate.
• Proactively implement new continuous improvement initiatives to increase departmental efficiency.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all external vendors and contractors.
• Ensure that packing activities are performed in accordance with the company Quality Manual as well as to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
• Ensure that Health & Safety requirements and good housekeeping are met in all areas (packing, warehouse & dispatch).
• Organise yearly end stock take.
Required attributes for the position:
• Strong time management and organisational skills with a clear ability to prioritise
• Ability to work under pressure and to use own initiative to plan ahead
• Effective communication skills
• Numerate and computer literate with good knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and Sage 200.
• Background in Lean Manufacturing & cGMP preferable.
• Responsive approach to Health & Safety
Experience:
• Management and leadership experience essential
• Good understanding of supply chain activities including transportation, warehousing and distribution.
