Intensive Needs Worker (Rough Sleeper Initiative)
37 hours per week
Based in Medway
Salary range: £19,645 – £24,011
Fixed-Term Twelve Months
Pathways to Independence is a registered charity providing supported housing services to homeless single adults, including ex-offenders, across Kent and Medway.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team offering intensive support to a small group of formerly street homeless individuals who are now accommodated in Supported Accommodation within Medway.
The primary responsibly of the Intensive Support Worker will be to provide personalised support and guidance to individuals referred to Pathways to Independence through the Medway Rough Sleepers Initiative.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, however due to the nature of the role and client group, some flexible working is expected. The contract is for an initial twelve months, in line with current funding. It is hoped that repeat funding will be secured.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a service offering support to vulnerable people and will have a knowledge of the traumas associated with homelessness. The candidate will committed to developing this service within PIE principles and with a trauma informed approach.
The candidate will need to be able to manage their own time and competing priorities effectively. Good IT skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels are essential.
A full UK Driving License is essential along with the daily use of a car (subject to the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995).
An Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required. However, a criminal conviction will not prejudice your application but will be risk assessed for the role.
