Oaks Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our highly collaborative and supportive team. Our LSAs are pivotal to our success in the classroom and provide a great deal of support for our teachers, therefore our successful candidates will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and students alike. Key responsibilities will be to provide wider support to the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of children to attain the targets set within the National Curriculum or Individual Education Plans, working on a 1:1 basis with specific pupil(s) or larger groups on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team, be reliable and excellent communicators.

Our successful candidate will have prior experience in a primary environment, ideally in EYFS, but exposure to working across all Key Stages is of real benefit. Please consult the Job Description by clicking here for an overview of the general responsibilities associated with this role.

The working basis of this role is 32.5 hours per week during Term Time, plus one additional week inset. The hours are 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break each day. Interviews will be conducted prior to breaking up for the summer holiday and our successful candidate will join us on Monday 2nd September 2019.

We are very proud of our school and the hard work and positive attitude of all our pupils and staff. Teaching areas are both safe and well maintained, providing a stimulating working environment for pupils. We are continually striving to improve our facilities in order to enrich the experiences of our pupils.

The teachers and support staff form a very strong team and work closely with the Governing Body and Leigh Academies Trust to promote high standards throughout Oaks Primary Academy. Parents provide invaluable voluntary support throughout the academy and there is a well-established PTA, which provides a programme of fundraising activities throughout the year.

The academy teaches a broad and balanced curriculum which is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. It is our aim to provide a happy, safe, and caring community, where everyone is encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.

Being part of the Leigh Academies Trust: Being part of a successful multi-academy trust allows the academy to share best practice and collaborate with colleagues from a number of other schools in the local area.
