An exciting opportunity the join an independently owned business who are entering an equally exciting period of growth and development and as such we are looking for a talented and positive Production and Purchasing Manager to oversee production, deliveries, purchasing and supplier relationships.

The key areas that will fall under the successful candidates remit will includes purchasing, outsourced production, assembly, warehousing and inventory for the company; ensuring the products leaving the company are delivered on time, of a high quality and cost effectively produced. Common materials used are cast iron, sheet metal and timber. The ideal candidate is resilient, good with numbers and enjoys negotiating.

Skill and prior experience will include:

* Proven work experience of working as a production buyer, or manager;
* A fabrication background would be the preferred experience of applicants;
* Strong interest in design of product, NPD and understanding of specification process;
* Strong negotiating skills;
* Commercial awareness;
* Ability to work with tight deadlines and cope under pressure;
* Numeracy; ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures;
* Prior experience with an ERP system.
