Kitchen Supervisor (Temporary)

Broadstairs, Kent

£8.85 Per Hour

Our client, an established education provider located in Broadstairs, Kent, is currently looking to recruit a Kitchen Supervisor on a temporary basis.

You will be working various shifts, Monday - Sunday. This role will be paying an hourly rate of £8.85.

The successful candidate will prepare and serve nutritionally balanced and attractively presented meals. Be responsible for the efficiency, hygiene and safety in the catering area; to organise and supervise the work of others in the main kitchen. Liaise with the Housekeeping and Catering Manager as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

* To help plan menus to provide balanced, varied and interesting meals making the best of fresh vegetables and fruit when in season.
* To check on food stocks and list requirements and order.
* To receive, check and correctly store any goods which are delivered in the absence of the Housekeeping and Catering Manager.
* To supervise and ensure that the kitchen assistants carry out the tasks they have been set.
* Prepare, cook and serve meals ensuring that the correct temperatures are achieved and recorded.
* To supervise and ensure that all food safety checks are carried out as outlined in the Food Safety manual kept in the office of the Housekeeping and Catering Manager.
* To ensure that all requirements for special diets are adhered to.
* To carry out any reasonable request made by any member of the management team within the general scope of the job.
* To attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
* To maintain a high standard of dress and personal hygiene.

Person Specification

* Must have previous experience within a similar role.
* Some management experience will help.
* Ability to multitask.
