The Video &Asset Specialist role has been created to produce high quality short video and animated assets for onsite inspiration and video advertising to help customers decide to book their next holiday.

A mix of upper funnel inspiration through to direct response/call to action content needs to be frequently created for use across James Villa’s website, social media and advertising outlets including digital advertising and OOH. This role will take the lead on video storyboarding and production, delivering on a multitude of creative video briefs received from the business and part of a busy integral team.

Identifying what makes the customer tick is key as you will be sourcing the video, mainly through video creation networks and stock with occasional travel to resorts.

Aside from video creation, in busy periods you will also need to be able to support the asset team in retouching static images.

This role is ideal for a graduate in photography or video production with some commercial experience.


Key tasks, responsibilities and accountabilities

Produce regular videos in-line with the content plan, making them on-brand and engaging
•Generating, sourcing and editing video content
•Working with the communications, ecommerce, brand, product and business development teams to conceptualise, film and edit moving digital content.
•Producing storyboards to present to key stakeholders within the business
•Be responsible for all post production for projects, including grading, mastering, encoding in different formats and uploading to the web.
•Lead graphic and animatic projects, as well as supporting the creative team with edits that require animation skills.
•Working with the ecommerce and communications teams to achieve KPIs including website traffic, SEO view-throughs and social engagement to name a few.
•Working to deadlines and managing business expectations and requirements to the brand standard.
•Manage the admin of the usage rights.
•Work with the Service Desk on the correct equipment and software updates that are needed.
•Support and work on any internal or business events to produce high quality content
•When shooting original plan, produce and deliver all video content within budget on a shoot-by-shoot basis.
•Attending idea sessions to discuss future campaigns that meet commercial and brand requirements
•Drive innovative and creative video and other visual solutions to combat communication challenges
•Working on new visual projects with the Visual Asset and Production manager
•Supporting the Visual Asset team with image retouching in busy periods
•Assist the department with ad hoc design requests

Education, training, skills and experience required

Graduate in photography or video production with commercial experience
•Experience producing and editing online/social content
•Good knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
•Experience shooting, lighting and recording audio
•Demonstrated understanding of video formats
•An awareness of SEO techniques and digital publishing best practice
•Experience using DSLR cameras or equivalent
•Ability to read and interpret analytics
•Edit to a high standard with tight deadlines
•Sound quality and post-production skills.
