As part of the Income Team, you will work to maximise the income from rents, service charges and other monies due by taking prompt and appropriate action to minimise arrears and non-payment.

Main Duties
• Deliver the income management service in accordance with relevant policy, procedures and statutory requirements, ensuring prompt and appropriate action is taken to recover debts.
• To regularly monitor rent, service charge and sundry debtor accounts ensuring that appropriate action is taken to recover outstanding monies due.
• Take payments and set up direct debits/standing orders.
• Enter into payment arrangements, monitor outcomes and progress to further action as appropriate.
• Liaise closely with the Housing Services Manager, Housing Officers and other teams in the delivery of income management services.
• To prepare Notices and cases for Court action, for approval by the Income Manager, having regard to applicable local arrangements and liaising with the councils' legal services teams as required.
• To attend Court as required in support of action to recover arrears of rent and other debts.
• To attend evictions.
• To ensure that tenants receive proper and adequate advice and assistance to enable them to receive their full benefit entitlement.
• Provide basic debt and welfare benefit advice, including referral to and liaison with external agencies providing advice and support in respect of benefits, debt advice and available grants/loans.
• To approve refunds of rent in appropriate cases.
• Undertake any other duties that are appropriate and commensurate with the grade of the post as may be required by service demands to ensure the effective operation of all EKH services.
